With more than 25 years of experience in temporary works engineering and coordination, we understand how site-based professionals work tirelessly to achieve their cost, quality,
and time targets while ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Our vision was to create a system that organizes and simplifies temporary works processes while complying with British standard BS5975:2024.
Our dedication to innovation and excellence led us to create the unique Temporary Works Portal. This online program and app streamline the processes that temporary works coordinators and supervisors use in Temporary works
management. Site workers can use a computer, tablet, or mobile phone to establish design briefs in real time within just 2-4 minutes. All designs are saved on a web-based cloud, allowing supervisors, engineers, and other
on-site professionals to access drawings and design notes anytime, anywhere.
The Temporary Works Portal enables engineers and supervisors to complete and upload permits to load and unload using their devices. They can also add photos of completed works, allowing directors and managers to review them
conveniently from cloud-based servers to ensure the works have been executed correctly.
In addition to permits, the Temporary Works Portal manages scaffolding systems. Site workers can complete an online scaffolding checklist using a tablet or mobile phone, adding notes and photos as needed. The app sends
automatic notifications to the temporary works coordinator every 7 days as a reminder to renew permits. At the end of the job, the temporary works are removed, and the project is closed on the app.
Each site receives a unique QR code, which is presented at the completed temporary works. Scanning the QR code allows workers to access the entire flow of information for the project, from the start of the design brief
process to compliance and safety monitoring. Once the temporary works are removed, the project is closed.
As members of the temporary works forum, City Temporary Works is fully committed to creative innovation, promoting the safest and best practices in the industry. We consistently seek ways to improve the management and
application of temporary works for groundworks, concrete frames, slipform, jump-forms, top-down construction, and tunneling projects. In support of this objective, we developed our digital Temporary Works Management
Registrar, which enables the management of complex temporary works designs alongside bespoke construction practices.
Our exclusive Temporary Works Portal program is a centrally-managed application developed in-house by our talented designers, engineers, and app development team. This software brings together site requirements, temporary
works management, and our years of project development experience to assist qualified temporary works site coordinators in conveying design requirements efficiently.
At the heart of the Temporary Works Portal is a tracking and notification system that aligns in real time with the most current changes in the client’s design brief and on-site conditions. This live stream support system
is used throughout the project's life.
Following BS5975 codes of practice, the software enables site coordinators to list all relevant temporary works for each site. By populating site-specific design brief forms within the portal, multiple design scenarios
are covered. Once a design brief is submitted, the system allocates the temporary works request, end date, and notification start dates, initiating the tracking process.
The Temporary Works Portal ensures the complete lifecycle of temporary works designs remains on one digital master register, in line with British standards. The automatic tracking notification system adheres to the temporary
works protocol from the design brief to design check certificates and permits. Design briefs are supported with photos and descriptions of the assembled temporary works.
City Temporary Works collaborates with highly competent temporary works design subcontractors who are specialists in their field. The Temporary Works Portal guarantees and maintains the quality of temporary works designs.
Each design is CAT1 to CAT3 checked (for complex designs), with a check certificate issued by our designers. The process is completed by our in-house department, ensuring the highest standards before issuing the build design to site.
All City Temporary Works coordinators and supervisors are trained through our in-house department to maintain and follow BS5975 standards and bespoke procedures. This ensures we uphold the highest standards in design and
implementation, leading to a safer working environment.

I’ve known Hani Thaler for a number of years, his passion for temporary works, its design and control is evident as soon as you meet and chat with him, From an early stage working alongside Hani it was clear that he intended to solve problems we all encounters with the control and recording of designs, permits and competency. I was introduced to the Temporary works portal at an early stage of its development, the base and foundation is built around the requirement of the British standard, the way it streamlines the process and catalogues the required information in to easy to understand and easy to find format removes the complications and filing systems a company’s designated individual has to design and manage,

When a Client group that I represent came together with a requirement to develop and deliver a specific temporary works coordinator course, Hani and City Temporary Works was the first port of call.
Hani was instrumental in the design of a now recognised CITB training standard for Temporary Works Coordinators operating in reinforced concrete and groundworks environments.
We are continuing this working partnership to help develop and deliver other training courses to help support the construction industry in specialist sectors. City Temporary Works, come high recommended.
